In this horror film that basically set the rules for the zombie genre, Barbra Bickering (Judith O'Dea) is chased off from a graveyard to a farmhouse by a resurrected man, and forced to barricade herself inside the house from a swarm of zombies, along with Ben (Duane Jones, the first black man to play a lead role in a movie), and five other people.
When this suspenseful chiller was first released, many people did not want to sleep with the lights off, now many are brave enough to watch this film providing simple entertainment, which led director George A. Romero to stardom. For an extremely low-budget, this scared the crap out of so many people, which more saw than any other film in the year.
